Welcome to the 23(3S) special issue of Medical Science Educator on the topic of Interprofessional Education.
This special issue was initiated during a panel discussion at the annual meeting of the Generalists in Medical Education in San Francisco in November 2012, where representatives of The Generalists, IAMSE and ASPE (Association for Standardized Patient Educators) discussed the topic of Interprofessional Education in great detail. The call for manuscripts on this topic was very successful and we are proud to present to you 27 articles in this special issue.
This year, during the 2013 annual meeting of the Generalists in Medical Education in Philadelphia, we will present this special journal issue to the meeting participants, and we will help to move the discussion forward in a panel discussion titled: “Interprofessional Education: Best Practices”. I am proud that Medical Science Educator can make a contribution to the ongoing discussions in medical education.
Please feel free to share this issue with colleagues within your institutions! I hope that you and your colleagues will enjoy this issue of Medical Science Educator.
